Aundre Mitchell, NP

I am a family nurse practitioner who will provide comprehensive, holistic primary care to patients. As a nurse practitioner, I can diagnose medical conditions, order and interpret labs/diagnostics, refer to specialists (if necessary), and prescribe medications. My nursing background is mostly in the post-surgical and infectious disease specialty. As a nurse practitioner, my experience is mostly in the primary and urgent care settings. I have worked in federally qualified health centers providing rural care to the underserved population as well. I went to The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for my Bachelor's and Master's of science in nursing. I am currently board certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I chose to work in health care due to my passion for providing affordable, high quality care to patients. I also feel it is a spiritual calling for me to help humanity through patient care. I chose to work for Vera due to the advanced primary care model, which will allow me to spend more time with patients to build long lasting relationships, improve patient outcomes, close care gaps, and work collaboratively with allied staff to provide high quality, cost effective patient care. These are a few reasons why Vera is an excellent choice for me. I live to travel to different countries and learn about different cultures! I have been to London, Paris, Cuba, Haiti, Aruba and Jamaica to just name a few. I also like to walk different trails and explore nature/outdoors. I was an excellent trombone player back in middle and high school!
