About

Hello, my name is Robin Atkins and I am a Physician Assistant/Associate. I was born and raised in Southern California, growing up from humble beginnings in a very low-income area, where seeking medical care was not a priority. This heavily influences not only who I am, but how I intentionally practice medicine. Thankfully, I was blessed with great teachers who lead me to attend California Baptist University (CBU) where I discovered my love of science and earned my B.S. in Biology, pre-medicine. I then spent two years working as an emergency medicine scribe and volunteering at a local hospital and church clinic building my clinical and medical skills and knowledge. I finally returned to CBU for my M.S. in Physician Assistant studies. Along the way I met my now-husband and got married in 2014. We helped support each other in our education and obtained our Master's degrees together. He currently works as a teacher, primarily teaching orchestra, as well as PE and technology. Shortly after my graduating in 2018, we relocated to Washington and have loved getting to know the true beauty of nature here. I am still a novice hiker, but I do love to get out and enjoy the sights as much as possible. Frankly, the Californian in me still struggles with PNW winters, but basks in the rest of the gorgeous seasons! Upon my move to Washington, I started working for Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and have been working there in Family Medicine for the past four years. I have enjoyed getting to know my patients and building lasting relationships over the years. Given my upbringing, I have a strong inclination toward preventive medicine as I realize its importance in not only preventing disease and illness, but also having an overall better quality of life. People come from all walks and I strive to meet them where they are to help them achieve their goals. My strengths are empathy and harmony, so it is my desire to help my patients feel heard, cared for, and at peace while also providing quality care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my very sweet 1 year old fur child (dog), Katara. My biggest hobby has always been crocheting which I have been doing since I was 13 years old. Ways that I stay healthy are walks with my dog, exercise, being outdoors, my faith, and time with loved ones.
