Dr. Alisha Skinner was born in Vancouver, Canada, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia. She received her medical degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2015. Before moving to Anchorage in 2019, Dr. Skinner practiced as a hospitalist at Denver Health and served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, where she taught medical students and residents. Her clinical interests include transitions of care between the inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as antimicrobial stewardship. Since relocating to Anchorage, Dr. Skinner has enjoyed caring for patients in the outpatient setting and building lasting relationships with them. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, skiing, and exploring Alaska’s outdoors.
