Monali Desai, MD

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Desai graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and traveled to Connecticut to complete her Middlesex Hospital Family Medicine Residency. She enjoyed providing broad scope, multi-generational care in the local community and decided to make Connecticut her new home. Before joining Vera Whole Health in 2024, she practiced in an outpatient practice in Middletown and then completed a Masters in English with concentration in medical humanities. Her approach to clinical care, like her interest in medical humanities, is rooted in patient narratives - the people, stories, and relationships behind the illness - along with practicing up-to-date, evidence based medicine. Her clinical interests are broad, but include behavioral health, addiction medicine, and home-based visits. Outside of medicine, Dr. Desai enjoys long walks with her husband and daughter, cooking and baking, and reading out on her porch.
